Welcome to the
Ungana-Afrika "Incubation of ICT Capacity Building Programs" Workshop Resource
CD. This online version of the CD contains resources for workshop
participants, and anyone interested in the development of eRiding ICT
support concepts and programs.
About the Workshop and These Resources
|
Many
non-profits and non-profit networks in
Southern
Africa are beginning to recognize the value of information and
communication technologies (ICTs), but lack the funding and
resources necessary to harness the opportunities they offer. As a
result, Ungana-Afrika is helping to incubate and implement ICT
capacity-building structures that harness and mobilize community skills
and resources. As part of this effort, Ungana-Afrika, with the support
of OSISA,
hosted a series of workshops in Southern Africa that introduced
non-profit leaders to new support concepts and materials they
can
use to launch their own sector or network-focused ICT capacity building
programs.
The
workshop focused on the internationally
proven eRiding model
of non-profit support and capacity
building. With this model, training, planning and support efforts can
be efficiently mobilized over a group of organisations, and within a
wide variety of development contexts. Workshop
topics were targeted at groups of
development organisations that share a common sector focus,
geographical scope, or managing/funding body within the Southern Africa
Development Community (SADC).
