Ungana-Afrika,
with the support of OSISA,
is hosting a selection of free workshops that help leaders of
non-profit organisational
communities understand and implement new models of technology
support and capacity-building. Upcoming workshops will take place in Windhoek, Namibia on 17-18 October 2007.
INCUBATION OF ICT
CAPACITY BUILDING
PROGRAMS
Many
non-profits and non-profit networks in
Southern
Africa are beginning to recognize the value of information and
communication technologies (ICTs), but lack the funding and
resources necessary to harness the opportunities they offer. As a
result, Ungana-Afrika is helping to incubate and implement ICT
capacity-building structures that harness and mobilize community skills
and resources. These programs give collaborative groups (and individual
non-profits) the power to better implement technology as a strategic,
mission-focused tool. This workshop will introduce
non-profit leaders to new support concepts and materials which they can
use to launch their own sector or network-focused ICT capacity building
programs.
Ungana-Afrika
has over two years experience
implementing and managing ICT support programs within Southern Africa's
development community. Furthermore, Ungana-Afrika works closely with
other international groups that provide similar services throughout the
globe.
For more specifics about
this incubation concept, see: http://www.ungana-afrika.org/projects/coe.htm

proven eRiding model
of non-profit support and capacity
