eRiding Article
(PDF, 2006). This article (full title: "eRiding - A Solution To The ICT
Capacity Crisis In The Civil Society Sector") was written by Toni
Eliasz, from Ungana-Afrika, and Teresa Crawford. It summarizes the
eRider movement, applications and benefits.
Incubation of ICT
Capacity Building Programs Resource CD
(Mixed Format, 2006) The online version of the workshop CD produced as
part of the 2005-2006 "Incubation of ICT Capacity Building Programs"
workshop series hosted by Ungana-Afrika. Contains a large mix of very
useful materials for anyone interested in the development of ICT
support concepts and programs.
Example
Incubation Project Materials
(Mixed Format, 2006). An example proposal and budget for a 2-year
eRiding project in southern Mozambique. This project is a good example
of a incubation effort, such that Ungana-Afrika (an experienced eRiding
organisation) helps to incubate a new eRider project in Mozambique with
a local partner. Materials includes a full 2-year proposal and budget,
along with an separate high-level network assessment (assessment plan,
report and related materials).
eRider
Training Materials
(Mixed Format, 2006). A complete set of training materials for eRider
trainers who want to create custom programs for training new eRiders.
This is a holistic source for eRider capacity-building resources, and
includes many materials that have been designed specifically for a
eRiding projects. These materials were compiled by Ungana-Afrika in
cooperation with the eRider community.
Strategic
Technology Planning Toolkit
(PDF, 2005). Ungana-Afrika has been providing strategic technology
planning services to the development community in Southern Africa for
many years. The processes have been refined through experience, and are
presented here to assist other technology support providers to
implement technology planning in their own context. These materials
were also featured in the online toolkit Mainstreaming
ICTs (Africa lives the information society).
Midgard CMS
Case
Study (PDF, 2005).
This case study highlights the experiences and lessons learned during a
focused website content management system (CMS)1 research and
implementation project. This project was initiated in November 2003
when the Embassy of Finland agreed to fund Ungana-Afrika in their
efforts to explore new information and communication technology (ICT)
tools within the African development community.
