The Finnish Embassy in South Africa provides
funding to a number
of development-focused organisations. Through this project
Ungana-Afrika facilitated strategic technology planning with two of the
embassy's grantees: The Karoo Centre for Human Rights (KCHR) based in
Beaufort West, and the National Institute for Crime Prevention and the
Reintegration of Offenters (NICRO) with their head-office in Cape Town.
A week of assessment and planning with each organisation and resulted
in the development of a full technology plan for KCHR, and a technology
recommendations document for NICRO to complement their existing
technology strategy. This project was the foundation for subsequent
partnerships with KCHR, including the Technology Strategy Development
Project and the Rural Connectivity Project.
