About Ungana-Afrika > Supporters & Partners

Ungana-Afrika would like to thank its diverse list of supporters and partners for their ongoing assistance. See also our customers page for a list of project-specific clients.

Primary/Core Supporters

Because of our outstanding quality of work, all of our core supporters have provided additional grants (beyond the initial relationship), and have committed to long-standing support.

soros foundations

Soros Foundations

The Open Society Institute (OSI), a private operating and grant making foundation, aims to shape public policy to promote democratic governance, human rights, and economic, legal, and social reform. Soros foundations are autonomous institutions established in particular countries or regions to initiate and support open society activities.

Several Soros Foundations have supported core Ungana-Afrika operations or specific projects, and the Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (OSISA) has provided core support from the start of Ungana-Afrika. OSISA's current operational support lasts until the end of 2009.

hivos

Hivos
Hivos is a Dutch non-governmental organisation inspired by humanist values. Hivos seeks to contribute to a free, fair and sustainable world in which citizens have equal access to the resources and opportunities for their development.

Hivos started supporting Ungana-Afrika in 2005 and through a current co-funding approach with OSISA, Hivos has extended it's support until the end of 2009.

NGO's promoting democracy and human rights are supported by the embassy administered Local Co-operation Fund.

Ungana-Afrika has received financial support from the co-operation fund in South Africa for a number of ICT capacity building and consulting projects since early 2004.
